I have to grit my teeth and force myself to learn continental style knitting. I took almost the whole week off last week from working on my shrug and as soon as I picked up the needles yesterday, my left hand started thobbing! GRRRRR
I'm pretty sure I'm just making way too many repetitive moves, even more than I should be with regular crossoever stitches. I'm not a smooth, efficient knitter AT ALL.
So, I'm going to watch videos on youtube and this other place I found instruction knitting vids on line because I have to see it being done or I sit there staring at my hands not sure at all what they're supposed to be doing.
Wish me luck!
Of the good, however, was the concert at Bluebird Theatre Friday night. Carbon Leaf kicks major ass y'all and if you ever get a chance to go see them live, it is so worth it. They're such cute, adorkable boys, especially Barry, the lead singer who can't keep his fingers and hands still to save his neck. I wanted to take them home and feed them pie (after I crawled into their laps). They played my favorite song by them third on their playlist and I was a very happy Meg.
OMG, I am NEVER knitting another scarf. If I do one, it will be speedy crochet! Anyway, Wolfie has this nice, soft baby alpaca to keep his neck warm as the new cold front moves in this week.
First a close-up of the yarn, which is downright edible!
I'm assuming it's because my tension was not consistent, but I tried. Lord knows I tried!! What's the secret?
[pretty much a dupe of my LJ post last night...]
Went to The Lamb Shoppe tonight and had a howling good time. My Stitch n Bitch group rocks!! I doubt there is a cooler one anywhere. We talked about attitude, dildos, being a btich and I came out to them as a slash writer. Ha! Beat that!
And they had the most marvelously soft baby alpaca that I HAD to buy, you see. Yes, I did! So, Wolfie is getting a scarf, whether he wants it or not out of this lovely dark blue with shards of greens and blues subtly interwoven with it. And did I mention SOFT?
ETA - I found the yarn I bought. It's THIS ONE in Peacock Melange. If you click on the color swatch, it enlarges so you can see the subtle colors. I just want to roll in this stuff!
